Arrangementsbeskrivelse

The Research track, on gamification, from the first Game Scope conference 2016.

Presenters and participants of this conference are encouraged to discuss gamification with other researchers.

Gamification can be defined as the concept of applying game mechanics and game design techniques to engage and motivate people to achieve their goals; however it could be argued that e.g. gamification in marketing is about setting up goals for people to achieve. And further: What is then the difference between gamification and a game? These theoretical problems can be seen as the reason for a simple functional definition in which gamification means applying game elements to non-game areas.
