Webinar: The Influence of Covid-19 on our Relationships - An Introduction to Psychosocial Well-being

Description

The influence of Covid-19 on our relationships and well-being - How to take care of yourself in a time of social isolation.

Has the lock-down period affected your mental health and well-being? Are you feeling isolated, lonely and longing for social contact? If so, you are not alone! But there are things you can do to start taking better care of yourself in times of social isolation.

Recent studies (from IDA and research institutions, eg. EVA[1] and NFA[2]) show that our psychosocial wellbeing has been affected by the Covid-19 crisis, mostly in a negative direction. From the first Corona-lockdown period in spring 2020 till now, we can see a reduction in the level of psychosocial well-being and an increase in the feeling of loneliness, stress, depression, and anxiety. This is true for both students, managers, employees, and people out of job alike. And it is important that we start acting upon it before it is too late.

International House North Denmark is happy to present this collaboration with the Danish union IDA. At this seminar, IDA’s working life consultant will address what influence the Covid-19 crisis have on our psycho-social well-being, in what way the crisis can affect our interpersonal relations, and what we can do ourselves to navigate in this situation of social isolation.

In particular, the seminar will:

  • Introduce participants to newest knowledge on the effect of the Covid19-crisis on our mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide you with a better understanding of psychosocial well-being, relational competencies, risk and protective factors which is key to being better able to navigate in times of crisis.
  • Provide you with concrete tools and facilitate a reflection on key actions that can help you strengthen your coping strategies and take better care of yourself in times of crises.

The presenter:

Sita Michael Bormann holds a master’s degree in sociology within International Development and works as Work-life consultant with IDA, The Danish Society of Engineers. Sita has solid experience in mental health/psychosocial wellbeing, coping mechanisms, stress, and crisis management in all spheres of our life (individual, social, study and work). She has worked with these issues in Denmark as well as internationally and has also herself lived and worked abroad for several years.
