International House North Denmark welcomes all international spouses and partners to our Spouse Space Fall 2024 program.

Spouse Space's goal is to:

🤝 Create a network of accompanying spouses and partners

💼 Help with job search

🎯 Help spouses/partners integrate into North Denmark

💡 Introduce spouses/partners to networking opportunities and help each other with their daily challenges

Fall 2024 Program Dates - Please make sure you are able to participate in the events before signing up as attendance is required for 4 out of the 5 events.

More information will be shared prior to each event in a closed Facebook group.

September 18^th 12.30-15.00: Presentation from Business Consultant and free CV photo

At the first event, you will first get an introduction to the Spouse Space program and the coming events from program coordinator Pernille. You will also get to know your fellow program participants better during a presentation round.

After we will hear from Business Consultant at Business Aalborg Brian Juhl Lorentzen. He has a lot of knowledge and insight into the different industries and what the companies are currently focused on, which he will share.

At the presentation, we will have cake and you will have the opportunity to get your CV photo taken by a professional photographer for free! 

Cake, coffee, and tea will be served during the event.

October 23^rd 8.30-11.30: Spouse Speaker and trip to Biffen

For this event, we will be at Biffen Nordkraft, where you will first hear from previous Spouse Space participant Julia Gaska about how she has gone about her job search in Denmark - maybe her strategy can inspire your own job search?

Afterwards, we will watch a movie chosen by Biffen with English subtitles.

November 6^th (time TBA):  Company visit to GomSpace

GomSpace is a globally leading manufacturer and supplier of cubesat and small satellite solutions for customers in the academic, government and commercial markets. 

They were founded in 2007 and are today a listed company at the Nasdaq stock exchange in Stockholm (GOMX). They have their global headquarters in Aalborg, their constellation operations center in Luxembourg and sales & project development offices in France, Sweden and North America.

You will get a presentation of the company, see the workplace, and in general get to know more about how they work and potential job opportunities with them.

The visit will last 1,5-2 hours and will take place between 9.00-12.00, but the precise time will be announced later

November 27^th 12.30-15.00: Pitch Practice

At this event you get to practice your elevator pitch for your next job interview!

The elevator pitch is essential in any interview where it is expected for you to present yourself in 2-3 minutes at the beginning.

It can be difficult to know where to begin and daunting to deliver the pitch when at the interview. This event is therefore a chance for you to practice and optimize your pitch and get feedback from the other participants.

At the event, you will be divided into smaller groups where you will have time to prepare your pitch before presenting in the groups. You will take a starting point in a recent job application and prepare your pitch for the potential job interview you would participate in.

Cake, coffee, and tea will be served during the event.

December 11^th (time TBA): Christmas hygge and network

We will end the program with a Christmas lunch – further information will come soon.

The event will probably take place from 10.00-13.30 but the precise time will be announced later. 

After the program has ended you will also receive diplomas for participation (if you have attended at least 4 out of the 5 events).

The program consists of 5 events. Attendance is required for 4 of the 5 events in order to participate. This is due to the program receiving funding and therefore we need to ensure a certain number of participants and participation hours
